The Treatments

Holistic Massage:  The term ‘holistic’ comes from the Greek word ‘holos’ meaning whole. The Holistic Massage aims to restore balance within the body, taking into account the person’s whole being not just their physical symptoms or ailments. The Holistic Massage uses a range of massage techniques to improve circulation, sooth muscles and help the body to relax. Softer strokes are used on the bonier and more delicate parts of the body with stronger strokes where there is thicker muscle coverage.  The combination of these massage techniques can relieve tension and relax tight, sore muscles, flushing out toxins and improving circulation by increasing oxygen flow in the body, improving skin and muscle tone as well as promoting relaxation and reducing the effects of stress and anxiety.  This is a massage to relax and sooth, leaving you with a sense of peace and well-being that continues long after the massage itself.

Deep Tissue Massage:  Uses slower and firmer strokes with deeper pressure that concentrate on particular areas and the deepest layers of muscle tissue. It helps to refresh and relax muscles, increasing the blood flow and oxygen flow around the body. This helps to eliminate toxins in sore and strained muscles to help them strengthen and heal. Lighter pressure is used at the beginning of the massage to warm up and prepare the muscles. The deeper pressure is applied to break down muscle knots or adhesions (bands of painful rigid tissue). The aim of a deep tissue massage is not so much to leave you relaxed and soothed, but to tackle particular physical muscular issues.  If you have aches and pains, particularly in shoulders and lower back then this is the massage for you.

Indian Head Massage: This is an ancient therapeutic treatment that has been practiced in India for thousands of years. It is a deep massage that uses a variety of acupressure techniques manipulating the soft tissues on the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face. It can help to provide relief from aches and pains, promote healthy scalp and hair as well as helping to induce feelings of relaxation and well-being. The aim of an Indian Head Massage is to release the stress that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the upper back, shoulders, neck, head and face. It soothes away stress and tension leaving you relaxed, revitalized and energised.

No Hands Massage: No Hands Massage is a dynamic new approach to Massage and is fast gaining a reputation as a powerful new therapeutic Massage treatments.  It was conceived and developed by British therapist Gerry Pyves and is currently being launched in the USA. It works by the therapist mainly using the soft surfaces of the forearms combined with body weight, providing a deeper, comfortable pressure and a very  structural massage.  The Therapist does use hands throughout the treatment, although no stress is placed through the hands/wrists and this makes for a more comfortable massage for you. A No Hands massage is tailored to your needs, from a gentle nurturing massage, through to a structural deep session to get rid of muscular tension, or may be a bit of both. No Hands is a zero pain massage. Clients comment that it calms their minds very quickly mind enabling them to deeply relax. It helps with anxiety related disorders and brings deep relaxation. Having trained in the No hands Massage ‘Transforming Touch’ programme, Jack uses these elements in his personal tailored massage sessions.
